Will I have to go to court at any time during my divorce in Florida?

Transcript

That depends. It depends on whether the case can be settled at mediation. If the case is settled at mediation, then one of the parties has to have a short court hearing in front of the judge in order to obtain the actual divorce. That’s usually decided between the attorneys as to who will have to go to the hearing at the end. Often times, though, the client doesn’t have to go to court. It depends on the complexity of the case, it depends on what is agreed. If everything is agreed at mediation, then often times, no, the individual does not have to go to court. If, however, things are not agreed at mediation, and the case has to be tried, then yes, the parties do have to go to court.
