Can the police conduct a search without a warrant in Florida?

In Florida you have a right to privacy in the sanctity of your home, which requires a search warrant by police to ever search your home. A car, you have less privacy in your car. Again, a police officer can search your car subsequent to a traffic stop if they have reasonable suspicion that a crime is being currently committed in the car, or reasonable suspicion that drugs have recently been consumed in a car. Specifically, they can search a car without a warrant if they smell marijuana, or see other illegal contraband in the car. To go into further compartments in the car, trunks of a car, or things that aren’t in plain view, an officer will have to apply for a search warrant in your car.
