My boat was hit by another boat and sustained damage. Will the other boater’s insurance cover these damages?

Transcript

Insurance questions are always complex. When a boating accident occurs, often times, the at fault boater’s insurance will cover the injuries as well as the damage to the boat. However, to properly evaluate any insurance claim, an attorney has to look at the policy involved in the boating accident, which would mean that the passenger or the person who owns the boat would come in and sit down with their policy, so that we could look to see and properly evaluate the proper coverage that a particular person would have. Answering that question, it really comes down to, "It depends." Normally it’s the at fault boater’s policy that would cover, but often times the boat owner’s policy can also cover.
