What happens if I am injured in Florida by an at fault driver who doesn’t have auto insurance?

Transcript

Unfortunately in Florida we have many people driving who have no insurance at all. This is a very large problem for a lot of people who get hit by these people. The first thing that happens is, you hope the client has uninsured motorist cover on their own policy. That’s coverage that the client would have paid for in the event that a person hits them, that is at fault in the accident, and has no insurance. That is extra coverage beyond the normal coverage that most insurance companies will sell in terms of bodily injury coverage. It’s extremely important that people purchase uninsured and under insured motorist coverage in the event that they are struck by an uninsured vehicle. If they don’t have that type of coverage, often times there is no case.
