Getting a rental car is up to the at fault driver’s insurance company. When your car is in the shop and it’s being fixed by the at fault driver’s insurance company, it is their responsibility to rent you a car. If you are getting your car repaired under your own policy, then you must have renters insurance policy in your own policy in order to get a rental call.
