What is the difference between jail and prison in Florida?

Transcript

In Florida, jails are regulated by counties, and again, if you’re convicted of a misdemeanor offense, you can be sentenced up to one year in the county jail. Prisons are regulated, again, by the state. They are spread all over the state, and that’s if you get any sentence that is longer than one year, you would be incarcerated in prison.
